I am fortunate to live in Cape Town where I am able to draw my inspiration from beautiful indigenous plants while walking on our majestic mountain slopes or through the veld. The usual response would be to try and capture it all on camera. But I have chosen to capture these inspiring and treasured plants in handcrafted pieces of wood and silver jewellery.

I only use recycled silver and sustainably sourced indigenous woods to create my botanical jewellery. By doing this I have balanced my desire to immortalise this floral beauty with my passion to protect and conserve the environment in which it thrives for future generations.

When I designed this range of botanical jewellery I felt it was important to include you – the client – in the fun of the creative process. You get the opportunity to choose certain combinations of materials, thereby allowing you to participate in creating a piece of jewellery that complements your personal style.

The brooch and pendant designs allow you to choose the type and colour of wood that you want, to enhance the botanical piece. Your piece of jewellery will be unique due to the variations in woodgrain and colour that are inherent properties of wood. No two pieces will be the same!

My selection of earring designs also gives you the opportunity to customise your choice. With my oval leaf earrings you can opt for the “all silver” or for the “silver and gilt” version. And with the Acacia oval earrings you have a choice of either citrine or peridot as the gemstones in that design.

Together, let us celebrate the beauty of these plants, mindful of their need of our protection, for their future and ours. As a demonstration of my commitment to botanical conservation I will be donating part of the profits from the sale of my jewellery to the conservation programme at the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve.
